About Headlight Restoration Professionals

Headlight Restoration Professionals is a family-owned and operated business in southern California run by Shirley and Bryant Jones.  Our research chemists have worked in the chemical industry for 30+ years.  They have research experience and specialized training in automotive plastics and UV curing technology. 

We first became interested in headlights when we noticed our own headlights were so yellowed and cloudy that our night driving was seriously impaired.  We learned it would cost us close to $400 to replace them.   We discovered there were no OEM quality solutions available to provide a durable repair.  We then developed a coating that would mimic the factory Hardcoat--providing good scratch resistance and giving them protection from the damaging sunlight.  This culminated in the discovery of ReNuLite™.

In developing ReNuLite™, it became clear that we needed a method for curing that was fast and independent of temperature.  Thermal cured processes are notoriously slow and heavily temperature dependent.  This is why we decided to use state-of-the-art UV curing technology.  UV curing technology is the fastest method to give crystal clear results and hard, durable finishes.  As we investigated the different methods of application, we found that aerosol sprays were the only reliable way to deliver a consistent, streak-free, class A finish. 

While our initial product was an excellent coating, it required an expensive high intensity UV light to cure.  Last year we developed a faster formula, which cures in sunlight or with a special, inexpensive fluorescent light.  This has generated new interest in our technology.  Our company sells the ReNuLite™ cans, as well as the fluorescent light for indoor cures.
